Hailing from the south coast, Portsmouth's fuzzed-up psych quintet Melt Dunes have been gaining a rapid reputation as one of the fiercest live bands in the country with their enviable camaraderie and all-consuming walls of sound. 'Grotesque' is the squalid follow up to their colossal debut 'Flesh', which blew us away back in February. It's a bludgeoning yet mesmerising cacophony of shamanic psychedelia and erratic garage-rock. The controlled chaos of 'Grotesque' combines elements of The Stooges with the sinister sounds of early Pink Floyd and the fuzz-filled wizardry of modern-day heavy-psych heroes The Black Angels.
